Flint Hill Farm Educational Center is a working farm located on the summit of Flint Hill in Coopersburg, PA.
Park along the fence around the corral to the right just past the antennas as you enter.
Suggested parking locations for the start/finish are public places, with theft and vandalism a real possibility, especially in cities. Park during the event at your own risk. Please do not leave valuables in your car during the ride.
Riders are advised to make sleeping arrangements at or near the start/finish. Please don't try to drive a long distance before or after a tough brevet. Multiple options are available.
Join us in the buffet in the arena building to recount your tales of joy, woe, and epic adventure (some of which may even be true). There will be access to a hot shower, allowing you to clean up after the ride, as well as port-o-johns.
You'll visit two rivers, traveling to the Schuylkill, then to the Delaware, and climb to one of the spookiest places in PA.
The route starts with the descend from Flint Hill Farm. Begining with Beverly Hills, just past Cooperburg, the terrain is consistently rolling all the way to the Schuylkill river. Across the river you'll reach a control shared with the 400K (a super Wawa) just short of Harmonyville.
Here the course turns South East, following the Schuylkill on mildly rolling terrain to the control at Lock 60 park in Mont Clare, home of the last remaining operational lock in the Schuylkill Navigation System. Now you turn to the North East, climbing away from the river on "Level Road" till the terrain moderates through the heart of Bucks and Montgomery counties, including some paved trails in Evansburg State Park. Soon thereafter you will find yourself on familiar randoneuring roads approaching the info controle along the prettiest road in PA, Upper Tinicum Church, where the course begins to turn North West along the Delaware river for an easy riverside spin.
All too soon it's back to climbing as the course takes you over Hexenkopf Hill, passing close to the haunted rock at its summit. From there the course swings South West again, through Hellertown, and then the last grunt up to Flint Hill.
There are several steep, extended climbs. A triple or 39x27 is highly recommended.
