Saturday 10 November 2018
07:00 EST Start Time

Start Location

Bridge Street Bagel and Deli

67 Bridge St
Milford, NJ 08848
(908) 505-4077

The Deli opens at 6AM and serves a wide selection of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and pastries. There is a public rest room and indoor seating.

Due to the limited parking spaces at the Deli, please do not park your car on the street there. Parking is available in a parking lot off of Church St (across the street from the Milford Market)
Permission granted on event days only! Permission from Dawn VanDoran, US Health Care:

There's also limited parking for pre-riders and volunteers in the Municipal Lot Across the street from the Deli. Be sure to park by the creek, as far as possible from the Church.

Suggested parking locations for the start/finish are public places, with theft and vandalism a real possibility, especially in cities. Park during the event at your own risk. Please do not leave valuables in your car during the ride.

Traveling far? Several motels are available in the area. Make your own reservations by calling the hotel directly.

After the ride there is generally a gathering of tired and thirsty randonneurs either at Pipolo's Pizza, or at the Ship Inn. Check your brevet card for the exact finish controle designation. Pipolo's has a bit of a old school appearance inside, but  that's one of the endearing charms about the restaurant. The Ship Inn has an English pub atmosphere, serving craft-brewed ales, ciders, and home-made, British-inspired foods with locally sourced ingredients.

Ride Description

Starting out from the Bridge Street Bagel & Deli, we head north along the Delaware River through Phillipsburg and Easton.  We eventually head away from the river to the mountains upon Mud Run, where we reach the base at Wind Gap.  From Wind Gap, we travel along the southern part of Blue Mountain to Danielsville where we cross over to the northern side at Little Gap.  After an exhilarating descent from the top of the Blue Mountain Ski resort, we follow valley roads to Water Gap, where we once again meet up with the Delaware River.  Heading south along the river, there are spectacular views of the water gap with Mount Minisi on your right and Mount Tammany on your left. We continue south along the Delaware River back to Milford via Portland, Belvidere, Stewartsville, and Bloomsbury.  At Bloomsbury, we get one last good look at the Blue Mountains in the distance after the climb up Turkey Hill.
There are several steep, extended climbs.  A triple or 39x27 is highly recommended.
