Ride Report and Pictures
Ride Description
This route is based on the 2009 edition of the Water Gap 600k.

Starting out after a delicious breakfast at the Village Farmer in Delaware Water Gap we head north up the Allegheny Front through Canadensis and Promised Land.  Instead of stopping at Hawley, we'll bypass the busy traffic by heading over to Rt 402 and then on along the scenic Lackawaxen River. After crossing the historic Roebling Aqueduct, we join up with scenic Rt 97, which is a scenic and generally flat river road, except for the detour that climbs up the mountain to the controle in Eldred (pronounced El Dread). After summiting, it's on to Port Jervis through the many scenic overlooks at Hawks Nest.

At Port Jervis, we begin our return leg down along the Delaware River.  The Flats Deli controle has legendary sandwiches and the parking lot is freshly paved. The sandwiches will give you energy to climb Old Mine Rd (not freshly paved) to Millbrook Village and then finish up through the NJ side of the   Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area.

There are several steep, extended climbs.  A triple or 39x27 is highly recommended.
