There is a dormatory available for resting before setting out on the remaining 200K.  Sheets are provided but you may want to bring your own pillow.  Earplugs and a small flashlight might also be useful.  You should plan on packing a drop bag for this stop -- you can leave the bag either in your car or at the hostel.

Ride Description (revised 5/19)
The PA600k is composed of two loops that start and return back to the Weisel hostel.  The first loop is approximately 400k and head up to the Rt 97 corridor and Hawks Nest.  After returning back to the hostel for the sleep-over stop, the second loop is a 200k out-and-back course into the Lancaster area.

Setting out at the hostel start/finish, we follow the PA300k route to Cherryville.  We then head to Danielsville where we make our first crossing over the Applachian Trail at Little Gap.  After an exhilarating descent past the Blue Mountain Ski resort, we follow the valley road which offers spectacular views of the mountain ridge off to our right.  As we approach Wind Gap, we head up the Allegheny Front through Promised Land and on to Hawley.  We then ride along the scenic Lackawaxen River and, after crossing the historic Roebling Aqueduct, join up with scenic Rt 97 for the run to Port Jervis.

At Port Jervis, we begin our return leg back to the hostel overnight controle -- down along the Delaware River through, Dingmans Ferry, the PA side of the DWGRA, Water Gap, Portland, Bloomsbury, Rieglesville.

The second day's loop is an out and back segment through French Creek state park and into the Amish country near Lancaster.

As shown in the route profile, there are several steep, extended climbs.  A triple or 39x27 is highly recommended.
